After being created as a non-intrusive system, it can easily retrofit elevators across multiple properties of various manufacturers and connect them to one interface. The unified dashboard provides a comprehensive view of the current status of all elevators, eliminating the need for regular on-site inspections.
In this way, in the installation of Singapore's business park, the solution is said to save up to 14,000 man-hours per year, which is only used for physical lift inspections, allowing facility managers to shift their time and energy to other tasks.
All-weather elevator monitoring and real-time anomaly detection
The elevator management system keeps track of the key performance indicators of the elevator and collects data about its condition, usage rate and ride comfort. The operation monitoring function summarizes all the main operation parameters and physical characteristics of the elevator and its components. Among other important parameters, it also includes cabin floor flatness, number of trips, door movement, mileage and environmental conditions. Criteria related to passenger comfort (such as jerk and acceleration/deceleration) will also be monitored. Operators can view current data and historical trends on the dashboard. This information will be used as the basis for predictive maintenance in the future.
Most importantly, the system will quickly detect elevator parameters outside the predefined range of normal elevator operation. Typical examples are: traps, incorrect levelness of the cabin floor, door opening and closing problems, and abnormal vibration or noise. When a major problem occurs, the elevator manager will immediately alert the appropriate personnel, thereby greatly shortening the response time for critical incidents.
Predictive maintenance can plan elevator repairs in advance
Before reaching the abnormality detection threshold, the predictive maintenance module of Lift Manager will identify and evaluate abnormal behavior or changes in operating parameters. It uses data interpretation and AI algorithms to predict and detect the initial and ongoing degradation process before the actual failure occurs. This complex and advanced feature provides operators with a big advantage because it enables them to actively schedule elevator service interventions at least 30 days in advance.
Knowing when a failure will occur: indication of remaining downtime
When a potentially abnormal process is detected, the predictive maintenance module of Lift Manager will send an alert to the dashboard. The alarm indicates when the related elevator component or subsystem will fail. This information will be displayed as a dedicated area of ​​the dashboard as downtime (RTD).
The RTD indicator has three priority categories to specify the urgency of required interventions:
Green status: low urgency; recommended maintenance measures should be taken in one of the subsequent monthly maintenance inspections
Orange status: normal urgency; suggested measures should be taken during the next scheduled maintenance inspection
Red status: high urgency; it is recommended to take immediate measures to prevent elevator failure.
In addition, the system can also identify the root cause of detected abnormalities and provide clear guidance on which components need to be repaired. This allows for better targeted maintenance planning, thereby saving building operating costs and greatly reducing elevator downtime. Elevator technicians can be notified of specific issues in advance, thereby avoiding a lengthy list of criteria to determine the root cause, thereby reducing on-site time.
